Please join us in welcoming Alicia Hillar as the new office manager of the Saint Paul Area Synod, ELCA.
Alicia is a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, majoring in Sociology and Spanish. While with Augustana, she studied abroad in Seville, Spain. After graduating, Alicia spent a year with ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission working in Mexico with a non-profit promoting after-school programs and other opportunities for children in the community. Alicia was most recently working in a call center in the healthcare field.
Alicia grew up in a Saint Paul Area Synod congregation and traveled to Iringa, Tanzania with Bega Kwa Bega in 2007. She is excited to learn more about our companions in Guatemala through the ILAG. Alicia says that she is looking forward to being part of an organization that reaches so many people, with a focus not only on congregants within the synod, but also focusing on our brothers and sisters around the world. Before joining the synod staff, Alicia was in Peru hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
We look forward to getting to know Alicia more deeply as she settles into life at the synod. If you would like to send Alicia a greeting, she can be reached at alicia.hillar@spas-elca.org.
