The mood was joyful at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Circle Pines as our "Amazing Grays" group welcomed, for the first time, Pastor Karen Castillo. The senior group put together some of their favorite foods, coordinated a time of prayer and games, and warmly received Pastor Castillo as she shared about our partnership and common work. Our Savior's has had a strong relationship with San Isidro Labrador in Nueva Guatemala since 2007. We have visited and received visits from ILAG many times in these years, but this group had not yet hosted. They were delighted to hear the great work that God is doing through and among our sisters and brothers in Guatemala. We rejoiced to hear about a growing youth program at San Isidro Labrador and considered together what our partnership might look like as we move forward. We were particularly excited to learn about the steps being taken toward the education center for young women and girls and we wondered how we might support this holy work together. It was truly a day of accompaniment and partnership-of walking together as disciples of Jesus Christ, separated by distance and difference, but united by Christ.
