An Update on Shobi’s Table

Date posted: Monday 30 October 2017

For everything there is a season, and a time for ever matter under heaven ... Ecclesiastes 3:1

In the church we know that there is, indeed, a season for each ministry. Shobi's Table was launched as an exploratory mission start on November 1, 2011. Pastor Margaret Kelly assumed the role of mission developer in November 2012 and has helped this ministry become well known for its food truck outreach on the eastside of St. Paul.

Following a review of the ministry, as a synod we are pausing the work of Shobi's Table for a few months in order to discern the best ministry model and business plan to carry this outreach forward. Pastor Kelly will conclude her work as a mission developer on November 30th and the last Thursday for Shobi's Table this fall will be November 16th. You are welcome to share the community experience of Shobi's Table that day and each Thursday until then at 1055 Payne Avenue from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Worship with the gathered community is usually at 11:45 am.

Many congregations and individuals have supported the work of Shobi's Table these past six years and we hope that support will continue in the future. We give thanks to God for all that has been accomplished through this ministry on the streets and look forward to the Spirit's direction for the next chapter of Shobi's Table.
