Thank Offering

Date posted: Friday 28 October 2022

When we worship with companions in Iringa Diocese parishes, our travelers often ask their hosts, “How many offerings today?” It’s common to learn that in addition to the regular offering of tithed or pledged contributions, there will be a collection for a specific need or to honor an event of giving thanks in the congregation.

As we in the U.S. start to experience mailboxes stuffed with year-end giving appeals, here’s a reminder of the many ways individuals and congregations can contribute to the shared work of Bega Kwa Bega beyond our individual companion congregation commitments:

  • Bega Kwa Bega Mission Personnel Fund - supports the year-round placement of Program Coordinators in our Iringa Office;
  • BKB Guest Expenses - brings Tanzanian leaders to our Fall Festival and provides the chance to reciprocate the hospitality we receive when we visit;
  • BKB Education Initiatives - extend beyond our companion commitments to secondary scholars, reaching students in unpartnered parishes (Equity Fund), providing Post Secondary Scholarships and Infrastructure projects like the multi-purpose building at Mtera Secondary School;
  • Piki Pikis for Unpartnered Parishes - this new initiative provides motorcycles for parishes that don’t have the ongoing support of a companion congregation; and
    BKB Endowment Fund - invests in BKB’s long-term future sustainability.

In addition to these options that directly benefit Bega Kwa Bega commitments, our affiliate partners each do important development work and gratefully accept your contributions. Your gifts can support clean water, healthcare and wellness, microfinance, radio evangelism, reforestation, as well as an orphanage and a university. Check this page for the details.

Especially at this time of year, we are grateful for your ongoing commitment to our companions in the Iringa Diocese.

Asante,

Kirsten Levorson

Director of Bega Kwa Bega
