As Minnesotans from across the state make their annual end-of-summer pilgrimage to the State Fair, leaders from across the Saint Paul Area Synod are beginning to make preparations for 'the Great BKB Get-Together.' Get out your calendars and save the morning of Saturday, November 10 for the 2018 BKB Fall Festival.
The Fall Festival is an annual celebration of our Bega Kwa Bega companion synod relationship with the Iringa Diocese of the ELCT. It is a morning filled with worship, fellowship, learning, and food (of course!) with people who, like you, seek to walk more closely beside our global companions. This year's festival will take place at Roseville Lutheran Church in Roseville and will be organized around the Swahili verb 'Kujenga' (meaning 'To Build'). It will give participants an opportunity to engage more deeply with the variety of projects we pursue, together, to better the world we share and strengthen our relationships with God and one another. Already it promises to be a memorable day, albeit with somewhat less food on a stick.
More details about the 2018 Fall Festival will be available in late September. For now, please save the date and start spreading the word. Those interested in joining the planning team are welcome to email peter.harrits@spas-elca.org or call me at 651-224-4313.
Karibu wote (Welcome all),
-peter
