Loaves and Fishes in Abundance
I am always surprised where I will find something about hunger and how we are called to help bring it [...]

The theme for this year's Synod Assembly We Are Lutheran: Restless and Resolute invites us all to reflect on deep questions we bring to the church, both locally and globally, as well as the hopes and convictions that keep us connected to it. While people of all ages know about being both restless and resolute, the synod is extending a special invitation to young adults (age 19-35) to be a part of this event in more and fuller ways this year.
If you are aged 19-35 and connected to a Saint Paul Area Synod congregation, consider being a part of the Synod Assembly in any of the following ways:
· Volunteer to be a small group facilitator. Conversations on gender, interreligious dialogue, and a topic to be decided, of interest to young adults. This is where we need you the most! Training will be provided.
· Attend the Synod Assembly as a voting member from your congregation. Attendance from younger lay members is usually quite low, so we are offering a special rate to congregations who send young adult voting members this year. Voting on matters before the assembly is the primary/formal purpose of the event. If interested, pay attention to when your congregation will be electing voting members…or let your pastor know! The reduced young adult fee is $90.
· Serve on a committee at Synod Assembly. We need folks to serve on the Election Committee (counting ballots) and on the Credentials Committee (helping with registration). If you like helping things run smoothly behind-the-scenes, this is a great way for you to get involved!
· Share this invitation with other young adults! If you have a spouse, roommate, friend, sibling, parishioner or co-worker who is connected to a congregation in the synod and who would be able and willing to help out, or to join you in being part of the Assembly, pass this on!
