Call Process
Constitution Review Process
The synod is here to walk with our leaders through every step of the process. Whether you're deciphering your calling, moving through candidacy, waiting for your first call, accepting a new call, or transitioning into retirement, the synod is here to help lend clarity and support, and connect you with the best resources.
Continuing Education
As a metro-area synod, we have many opportunities to gather and many learning resources at our fingertips. In addition to events and workshops throughout the year, the synod has devised continuing education programs both for our first call candidates and those who are beyond their first call.
Mobility & Call
The ELCA call process engages pastors, deacons, congregations, church-related organizations and synods in thoughtful assessment and spiritual discernment of how God may be calling them together in mutual ministry “for the sake of the mission and ministry of the church.”
Candidacy
Candidacy is the process of preparation and formation for Word and Sacrament and Word and Service ministries in the ELCA. The candidacy committee of each synod oversees the candidacy process.
News About Calls
The most up-to-date news about calls, interims, and transitions in our synod.
Staff Development
The synod is able to offer grants for congregations or ministry settings that are seeking staff development opportunities. The synod also supports congregations whose leader is going on sabbatical.
Synod Directory & Pulpit Supply
Intended for use by rostered ministers, the synod handbook contains information about committees, rostered leaders, and congregations. A pulpit supply list is also available for pastors going on vacation or on sabbatical.
