The Rev. Justin Grimm
Director for Evangelical Mission, Assistant to the Bishop for Congregational Vitality
The Rev. Justin Grimm joined synod staff in May 2015. Prior to this call, Justin served as pastor of Advent Lutheran Church in Lake Ann, Michigan. Justin brings with him ten years of experience as a mission developer in the North/West Lower Michigan Synod where he was instrumental in developing Advent Lutheran from its inception. Justin and his wife Anna, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and professional photographer, and children Logan and Payton, live in Shoreview. He is an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
In his role with the synod, Justin:
- Coordinates congregational development, including new and existing congregations, through the formation of mission strategies that include collaboration among congregations and ministries
- Assists the bishop and others in mission development of the synod’s Young Adult Initiatives to promote lives of faith and service in the rising generation
- Works with local synodical leaders in the identification of new mission opportunities, mission partnerships, and renewal
- Cooperates with faith-based organizations to undertake, when appropriate, church-based community organizing to engage congregations and neighborhoods
- Serves as the staff liaison to the several work groups within the Committee on Public Witness and helps to connect efforts between the work groups and other mission strategies
