Krista Lind joined the synod in 2016. She is a native of Ohio and first came to Minnesota serving with Habitat for Humanity through the Lutheran Volunteer Corp. After graduating from Luther Seminary, she worked in youth and education ministry in both Lutheran and United Methodist congregations in the Twin Cities. She then joined the staff at Luther Seminary where she worked for 17 years in a variety of roles in student affairs, most recently as Associate Dean of Student Resources and Candidacy. Krista lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Nathan, and two daughters, where they can be found exploring local bike trails and planning their next travel adventure.
Commissioned as an associate in ministry and now serving as a deacon, Krista finds joy in accompanying God’s people as they wonder about their callings and how to prepare themselves for service in the world.
In her role as Assistant to the Bishop for Vocational Formation, Krista:
- oversees the synod's candidacy process
- develops and promotes resources to assist candidates and rostered leaders as they mature in their understanding of vocation
- provides rostered leaders and congregations with referral services for psychological testing, spiritual direction, continuing education opportunities, workshops, and retreat and sabbatical experiences
- plans for regular boundary and power workshops; handles technical matters related to rostering
