David Roinas, Finance Administrator

David works for the synod on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays, plus Thursday afternoons.

David Roinas joined the staff in July of 2020 during the pandemic, many times the only on-site staff member in the office. Born and raised in Northern Illinois, he comes to Minnesota after 8 ½ years on staff at Holden Village, a Lutheran retreat center remotely located in the Cascade Mountains of Washington. He is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH, with a B.A. in accounting. David also serves as bookkeeper for St. John’s Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and as Music Director/Organist for Spring Garden Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, which means he holds jobs in three synods in Minnesota! David is an avid volunteer, helping with a community festival in his hometown of Creston, Ill., each year, and other activities when available. He is a big fan of all things bacon and can often be found wearing a bacon-themed t-shirt.

In his role as finance administrator, David:

  • keeps track of the financial income and expenses for the synod, as well as financials for BKB and Guatemala groups
  • works with the Bishop on the yearly budget, compensation guidelines and other synod financial forecasting, along with the Finance Committee
  • generates reports for the Finance Committee, Admin Committee and the Synod Council.
  • works with other staff tracking the financial data for the Lilly Grant and The Planting Hope Campaign
