Outreach Coordinator
Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church (SOTV) is seeking a qualified, organized candidate with a passion for connecting people and resources, implementing dynamic programs and events, and engaging volunteers to be leaders. This role will serve as a liaison for volunteer leaders and staff members to implement outreach ministry. This leader will provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all and promote community relationships. In addition, the Outreach Coordinator will equip volunteers of all ages to walk along staff in ministry.
SOTV is an ELCA congregation of approximately 8,500members in Apple Valley, Minnesota, a suburb of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Current average worship attendance is 2,000 weekly.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
➢Develop, lead, and coordinate outreach ministries promoting community relationships
➢Staff Coordinator for on-site Food Shelf •Work directly with approximately 7 Lead Volunteer roles to run the food shelf •Support of more than 45 weekly volunteers •Staff liaison to community connections •Communication and Advertising
➢Participate on Benevolence Leadership Team
➢Coordinate and implement church-wide service opportunities
➢Recruit, Train, and Retain Volunteers •Ministry Leaders •Participants
➢Administrative Support
➢Program Development
