Audio-Visual Specialist

Supervises: AV and Event Volunteers

Collaborates with: Co-Lead Pastors, Directors Care Ministries & Business Administrator & Outreach Committee

Hours: Part-time 10-20, Hours per week. Flexible but generally weekends (flexible schedule allowing for work-life balance and fewer summer hours)

FLSA classification: Non-exempt

Reports to: Co-Lead Pastors

 

 

The primary responsibility of the AV Technician at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Twin Cities (BLCTC) is to run sound and video for worship services while simultaneously providing a livestream to the Bethlehem YouTube channel and coordinating these efforts with other communication team members.

 

· Experience in Live streaming (YouTube preferred)

· Sound reinforcement

· Select and use of appropriate microphone types and techniques for music and speech

· Equipment interfacing (SDI, HDMI, balanced and unbalanced audio)

· Understand audio and video signal flow

· Manage live character generation (developing programming and overlaying live for worship)

· Manage non-sanctuary AV equipment (smart TVs, projectors, screens, sound reinforcement)

· Work with our creative teammates

· Regularly collaborate with communications team

· Use and maintain Windows computers (file system, image and video file types, MS Office, network)

· Develop presentation materials for worship and other events (PowerPoint)

· Coordinate and train technical volunteers, develop training materials

· Maintain necessary supplies

· Able to lift 50 lbs or more

Other responsibilities:

· AV system design experience

· Electronic equipment repair experience

· Teleconference experience (webcam, interfacing, configuring and using Zoom/Skype/Teams)

· Lighting (set up, DMX interfacing)

Qualifications to succeed:

· 1-2 years of experience in live and recorded audio and video production

· Strong troubleshooting skills, manage equipment repairs

· Cool head under pressure

· A collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and concern for quality

· Ability to multitask and prioritize, while being courteous, attentive, and helpful to non-technical people

· Good communication skills with staff, members and community groups/building users

· A can do attitude
