Companion Congregations
Following the values of accompaniment, congregations in the Iglesia Luterana Agustina de Guatemala are partnered with congregations in the United States. Both the Saint Paul Area Synod and the Southeastern Synod have companion synod relationships with the ILAG. These relationships are defined by the values of mutuality, inclusivity, vulnerability, empowerment and sustainability.
In entering into a companionship, both partner churches sign a covenant in which both congregations agree to name one another in prayer each week. Churches here in the U.S. also agree to visit regularly and make a financial commitment to their partners.
