From May 27 through June 4, 2017, the synod's Guatemala Task Force invites you to travel with them to visit our companions through the Iglesia Luterana Agustina de Guatemala (ILAG). Following the values of accompaniment, you will get to learn more about our family in Christ in Guatemala, developing new relationships and seeing what it means to be Lutheran in a different context.
This trip is open to anyone who would like to learn more about the ILAG and our global church. Whether your congregation has a partnership with the ILAG or not; perhaps you are simply curious about our Lutheran family around the world: you are invited!
The trip will begin at the Lutheran Center in Guatemala City. From there, the delegation will travel to the newest congregation in the ILAG, Jesús, el Buen Pastor, in the community of San Antonio Tzejá. There will be numerous opportunities to learn what this church is doing, hoping, and planning, and to share what your church is doing, hoping and planning. The delegation will then travel to the neighboring village of Cimiento de la Esperanza to visit the congregation Santa Cruz de la Esperanza, sharing in more meals, stories, and prayer.
May 27 – June 4, 2017
The cost of the trip is $1900, which includes airfare, ground transportation, lodging, all meals, and activity fees. Passport, shots, travel insurance and spending money are not included.
