The Saint Paul Area Synod is committed to building partnerships that are local, global and mutually transformative. Join us for a day of relationship building and learning around the call to respond to God's amazing grace in our local and global work!
After attending this event, participants will:
- Identify common language for engaging in God’s Mission locally and globally
- Have greater awareness of opportunities and challenges in intercultural ministry
- Return to their congregations with tools to carry these conversations and information forward in their home communities.
"From Partnership to Mission" includes worship, plenary sessions, learning tracks and lunch.
Worship will include inspiring music from a multitude of cultures and communities led by a "glocal" (global + local) team of musician-educators. The morning plenary session will highlight the "why" of accompaniment and explore our theological affirmations about mission; the afternoon plenary session will highlight the "so what" of accompaniment and zero-in on the real-world implications of our beliefs and actions.
The learning tracks are led by mission practitioners from across the country. Click here for bios of the facilitators. The tracks are designed to help participants connect the theory/practice of accompaniment with specific areas of ministry and congregational life. Participants will follow one learning track over the course of the day. To make the most of this event, congregations are encouraged to send several representatives.
