Guns to Garden Tools

Bethlehem in the Midway and House of Mercy are teaming up for a community event that features retired ELCA pastor and blacksmith the Rev. Jeff Wild. He’ll be creating garden tools using pieces from unwanted, voluntarily surrendered firearms. The afternoon includes a variety of family friendly events including seed planting and garden demonstrations, tables with information from BeSMART and ENGAGE, and a community art project as well as food from Habenero Tacos and sno-cones. Following the last blacksmith demonstration, a Service of Lament for Victims of Gun Violence will be held.
