Building Houses & Planting Gardens

Saturday, October 07, 2023 - 09:00am to 03:00pm

Gustavus Adolphus - 1669 Arcade St. N., St. Paul MN

While "being church" today has changed over the last year years, God continues to call you and your congregation to work for justice and peace and to share the life transforming good news of Jesus Christ. Jeremiah 29 reminds us in the midst of an exile story about the importance of setting deep roots where we are planted. The prophet encourages those that will hear to build houses and to plant gardens...basic, important things to survive.

The church, too, is called now to build houses and to plant gardens. What does that look like? It looks like having a sense of who you are...who your neighbor is...and why you do what you do.

The Synod Vitality team invites you to our first Tools for the Church event of this program year. Join us on Oct. 7 for "Building Houses & Planting Gardens," where we will engage in an interactive day of learning tools and practices that you can take back to your congregation to enhance your own garden planting. The end goal of this day is for you to have a sense of how to get at the heart of your mission, vision, values in your ministry setting. If you have those things in place already- yay!!- but come and learn some ways to engage them freshly. The day is made for lay leaders and rostered ministers.

This event costs $15 per person and includes and lunch.
