With more than six million members, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania is one of the fastest growing Lutheran Churches on the planet. On this introductory trip, a group of travelers from across the Saint Paul Area Synod will learn about the mission of the ELCT Iringa Diocese and catch a vision of what our companion synod relationship with them is all about.
Who? Adults (18+) affiliated with the Saint Paul Area Synod of the ELCA. The ideal group size is 10-12 travelers, minimum group size is 6.
When? Tentative travel dates are Jan 25 – Feb 7, 2018 and includes two Sundays in Iringa. The exact schedule may vary based on group members’ availability and airfare.
Why? ‘Presence’ is one of the pillars of this relationship. We believe that wherever two or more are gathered in Christ’s name, there He is AND that amazing things happen when you bring people of faith together across continents and cultures. Come and see, go and be transformed.
How Much? Estimated cost is $3750-$4000, based on a minimum group size of 6 people. Breakdown is as follows: Airfare $2000, Ground Transportation $600, Safari $600, Lodging $300, BKB Travel Fee $200, Meals $175, + Personal Spending Money. (Largest variables are airfare and ground transport based on number of participants).
Next Steps? Complete the online application by Oct 25, 2017.
